Mission Statement
North Yarra Community Health aims to provide high quality and responsive
programs and services to all members of our community.
We work with people to overcome their experiences of disadvantage, discrimination and disempowerment.
We respect people's choices and support them to make informed decisions to prevent illness and promote their health and well-being.
We encourage active participation in our services and in the life of our community.
About Us
We are a community health service located in the inner Melbourne suburbs of Collingwood, Carlton and Fitzroy. In addition to these three Community Health Centres, we also run Drug Safety Services from our shop front in Johnston Street, Collingwood.
We provide a wide range of services, groups and activities that address both the causes and effects of ill health in our community. We are a not for profit community-managed organisation with our own Board of Management. Our funding, principally, is derived from the State Government, but also from other levels of Government, philanthropic trusts and patient charges.
Our Client Demographics indicate that nearly 40% of clients are born outside Australia and come from over 130 different countries. Our Mission Statement reflects our values and aspirations, and our commitment to working in partnership with our community.
Our history dates back to 1869.
NYCH is committed to protecting our environment and responding to the challenges presented by climate change. Our response is led by our Environmental Sustainability working group.
You can contact us in person at any of our centres, by phone or e-mail, become a member, or join our extensive volunteer program.

Board of Directors
The Board is responsible for the overall policy setting of the organisation and is ultimately responsible for the range and quality of our services. Of the nine Directors, six are elected by the NYCH membership, and three are appointed by the Board following an expression of interest and interview process.
Organisational Structure
Our staff are organised into multidisciplinary teams to focus on community need.
