WALKING GROUPS

Collingwood Walking Group

Tired of walking by yourself? Do you suffer from aches & pains, arthritis, back pain or just need some more motivation to get out there and start?

Our walking groups take in the pleasant surrounds of our various suburbs and the walks last approx 45 to 60 minutes. Throughout the year groups also have outings to walk in different locations. We welcome new members at any time.

Indo-Chinese Walking Group

This enthusiastic group meets every morning from Monday to Friday.

Venue: Carlton Baths, 248 Rathdowne Street (near Princes St)

All our Gym Programs require an assessment by one of our physiotherapists prior to commencing.

Stronger Living - Light Weights Gym Program for men and women

The Stronger Living Gym Program provides a safe and fun environment in which to exercise and increase strength and fitness. The program is aimed at women and men aged over 50 years, who have osteoporosis or diabetes, or who just want to improve strength and balance to accomplish daily tasks and maintain optimum health. New members are always welcome to join.

Assessment by our physiotherapist prior to starting is essential.

Women Only Gym Group

A women only gym group open to women of all ages and from all backgrounds, however, priority is given to refugee women. Blinds cover all windows to ensure privacy. Come along and improve your strength, balance, cardiovascular fitness and general health and wellbeing in a fun and positive environment. Assessment by our Physiotherapist prior to starting is essential.

WATER EXERCISE PROGRAMS

Classes are held in warm water, for fun and fitness, relaxation, to improve mobility and for management of aches and pains. Water exercises are open to everyone. Classes are conducted by a NYCH physiotherapist or a trained volunteer, and are held in different venues.

All our Water Exercise classes require an assessment by one of our physiotherapists prior to commencing. When making the physio appointment please advise that it is for a 'water exercise assessment'.

Transport: Limited and one-way only: from NYCH Collingwood, 365 Hoddle Street to Collingwood Leisure Centre.

Group 1: from 2:30pm to 3:15pm
Group 2: from 3:15pm to 4:00pm

Women's Water Exercise Group

NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING: WILL RETURN IN 2013

A women only class, open to women of all ages and from all backgrounds, however, it is targeted at women who not normally use pool facilities due to their cultural/religious background. A physiotherapist or trained volunteer will guide the sessions.
