Philip Robinson

Philip Robinson trained as a Pharmacist and worked at the Collingwood Centre in the 1980s before gaining further qualifications in Information Technology. Philip has managed Information & Communications Technology and Health Information Services at several major Victorian health services including The Royal Children’s and Royal Women’s hospitals and Eastern Health.

From 2007 to 2009, Philip resided in the United Arab Emirates in the role of Chief Information Officer for the Sharjah Teaching Hospital at the University of Sharjah where he was responsible for the implementation of health applications and information technology during the construction phase of this new academic medical centre. He also reviewed the Information Technology and Pharmacy systems for the Dubai Health Authority.

Prior to his move to the Middle East, Philip had been a long–term Board Member of NYCH including serving several terms as Treasurer. Philip is a Senior Member of the Australian Computer Society and has previously served as a Director in Local Government, on Hospital and Community Health Boards and as a Policy Adviser to State and Federal Governments. In addition to being a Director of North Yarra Community Health Incorporated, Philip is a Director and Treasurer of the Health Informatics Society of Australia. He is a currently a consultant and specialist in the evaluation and implementation of health information systems.
