Family Services at North Yarra Community Health is a voluntary community-based program that aims to promote the safety, stability and development of vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Family Services focuses on what is best for the child, and offers support to all family members who are important in the child’s life.
Family support workers help families work towards their goals in the home environment.
Who can participate?
North Yarra Community Health offers family support to vulnerable families living in the City of Melbourne and the City of Yarra.
All different types of families can participate, and workers aim to understand what is important to each individual family, including their culture, values and spirituality.
How Can It Help?
- Improving parent-child relationships
- Understanding children’s behaviour
- Strengthening parenting skills

How Do I Make A Referral?
Referrals are made through Child FIRST, the central intake point for all Family Services in Victoria. North Yarra Community Health can assist with this process.
Referrals can be made by family members, friends, and organisations such as schools and hospitals.
