Community Liaison and Engagement

NYCH is committed to active community engagement and participation to ensure that service provision is meeting community needs. The community can get involved in different ways: Involve in one of our Health Promotion working groups (we have 3 working groups: Food security, Environmental sustainability, Mental Wellbeing and Social connectedness), provide feedback to service providers or through the suggestion boxes, sit on one of our steering committees such as the Healthy Carlton sub-committee, volunteer to provide feedback for our written information to the community, or become a member of the Community Liaison and Participation Committee (CLAP).

CLAP consists of interested individuals and community representatives from many different community groups. The representatives meet to discuss issues of concern and needs perceived by the community. This input is very important to us, because it assists us in planning our services and also feeds back to us the value of our services.

Several times during the year we also have public Community Liaison Forums to which everyone is invited. These Forums provide an opportunity for information exchange and lively discussion, give us feed back, and are also an opportunity to meet other people and foster a community spirit and connectedness.

We are proud of the services we provide but are always looking to improve them. We therefore encourage any suggestions and feedback.
